How long does an Instant Payment via PayShap take to reflect?

26 Aug 2026

Seconds. An Instant Payment via PayShap is processed in real time, so the money is usually in the recipient's account before you have put your phone down, and you both get a notification the moment it lands.

Why PayShap is that fast

Each payment is processed on its own rather than queued up in a batch. There is no overnight run and no waiting for the next business day. Compared to a Standard Payment, which can take between one and three business days to reflect.

PayShap works around the clock

There are no cut-off times. Saturday night, Sunday morning, Christmas Day, month-end, it makes no difference. A payment sent at 2am reflects just as quickly as one sent on a Tuesday afternoon.

That matters more than it sounds. Most payment delays people are used to are really just banking hours in disguise, and PayShap does away with them entirely.

When a payment might take longer

Delays are rare but possible. A weak or dropped connection while you are sending. Maintenance at the receiving bank. A short technical delay between the two banks. In most of these cases the payment either goes through in a moment or does not leave your account at all.

What to do if a payment has not reflected

Check your transaction history in the GoTyme Bank app first. If the money has not left your account, the payment did not go through and you can try again. If it has, ask the recipient to check their banking notifications, because money often arrives before someone thinks to look.
